Our students are housed on Kibbutz Barkai in apartment style rooms. Each room is equipped with a television, wireless Internet, a refrigerator, a kitchenette, and a full bathroom. The kibbutz offers our students the chance to be fully immersed in Israeli culture.
You will be living in a room with one other student in the program. Each room contains two beds, two desks, two chairs, a full mirror, a refrigerator, a television, a bathroom with shower, and a kitchenette.
The kitchenettes include cupboards, a hot water heater, and a sink. The television gets basic cable, which includes Fox News and Sky News as well as HOT (Israeli cable company) channels which feature American television. There is wireless Internet for all program students. Voltage in Israel is 230V and you’ll need converters for your electronics. You should buy them before you arrive in Israel because they are easier to find abroad. Outside the rooms there is a patio area with tables for hanging out and having barbecues.
In addition to the rooms, the students share a full kitchen that is attached to the classroom. This kitchen is just a minute walk from the student housing and includes an oven, a microwave, a full stove, a refrigerator, and all the utensils, pots, pans, plates, and cups you could need.
