Getting a Visa
There are several options for obtaining a visa, please let us know if we can provide you will any additional assistance or information.
1. Student (A2) Visa—This 5 month multiple-entry visa is available for students with MASA or Hashomer Hatzair grants only. If you wish to obtain a student visa please go to a nearby Israeli consulate before arrival. Information about student visas can be found here.
2. Tourist Visa—This option does not require any activity prior to arrival in Israel. Upon arrival you will likely receive a standard 3 month tourist visa (this is of course, subject to immigration agents at the airport). You will have to renew the visa partway through the semester, at a cost of 200 NIS. Renewing the visa requires dealing with bureaucracy which can be quite inconvenient. We will of course assist in this process, but recommend other options if possible.
3. Volunteer Visa—This 6 month visa is valid for the duration of the course and an additional month, which gives students flexibility for hassle-free departure. We highly recommend this option, though a bit more costly (760 NIS or about 220 USD), it does not require you to interact with Israeli bureaucracy. The visa is obtained through a service offered by the Hashomer Hatzair movement, and all details will be taken care of by them. If you choose this option, the cost will be added to your payment agreement.
